February 2012

Good Noise Vancouver Gospel Choir has been voted one of the top THREE favourite choirs in Vancouver.  Thank you Vancouver for voting for us in Vancouver Courier’s “Stars of 2012″.

Another exciting season of Gospel Music will give you not just the opportunity to be front and centre in the audience at this season’s concerts, but also a chance to be up on stage singing with Good Noise!

Our 2011-2012 season begins with “A Classic Gospel Christmas”, featuring the outstanding Kwantlen University Chorus.  The Kwantlen Chorus is a choir in the true “Town and Gown” tradition, comprised of both registered music students (the “gowns”) and community members (the “townsfolk).  Known for its outstanding sell-out concerts, the choir has presented master choral works, opera highlights concerts and performances of folk songs and world music.  The University Chorus will be providing the “Classic” element for “A Classic Gospel Christmas”, highlighting the musical origins of gospel Christmas favorites, complementing the high energy, contemporary gospel music our audiences love.

Brand new this year is your opportunity to sing with Good Noise in concert.  No audition necessary!  Back by popular demand will be our guest John Lee Sanders, who graced our Christmas concert stage in December 2010.  John Lee has performed with some of blues, gospel and pop music’s biggest music legends, travelled North America and Europe, bringing his “New Orleans deep fried funk…in a bucket full of blues; a musical gumbo of boogie piano, Texas tenor sax and a soulful voice of tremendous spiritual range.”  Whew!  And you can sing with John Lee in concert!  “Hallelujah Praise!” is a gospel music workshop and concert hosted by Good Noise, and you are invited to participate.  Spend a Saturday learning great gospel music with Good Noise and John Lee, and perform the following Sunday afternoon in the beautiful concert setting of Ryerson United Church.

To wrap up our gospel music season, one of Canada’s finest jazz singers, Jennifer Scott will be joining Good Noise as guest soloist.  An exceptional pianist and singer, Jennifer brings her musical versatility and joy of performing in what will be a truly “Joyful, Joyful” concert experience with Good Noise.  Jennifer has performed throughout Canada and the United States to critical acclaim and we are delighted to share the stage with her.  This is a “sister act” you won’t want to miss!

The Good Noise concerts are known to sell out quickly, and with this line-up of multi-award winning and dynamic guest artists performing exciting Gospel Music, tickets are sure to sell quickly.  Guarantee your place at our concerts by purchasing a Season Ticket Package!
